Skeleton Warriors

A pack of five skeletons from Reaper miniatures. These guys really painted up quickly. They remind me of the movie Jason and the Argonauts! The late great Ray Harryhausen created a squad of animated skeletons for that movie. So that is why I gave my skeletons Greek shields. Enjoy!

Trolls

I absolutely love these trolls from Mirliton.  Just a joy to paint these big chunky guys! I really prefer these over the classic D&D troll, or the ridiculous GW trolls.  It's not even close.  Enjoy the photos, and Merry Christmas ⛄⛄⛄

Orc Command

These are the last two orcs from my big purchase from Mirliton. Here we have the orc shaman and the orc warlord. I went a bit adventurous with the paint on these two. With the shaman I attempted a red fur lined cloak. The warlord has a suit of copper plate mail. I will let you decide how I did. Enjoy the photos!

Orc Big Brutes

The larger specimens of the orc species.  These were fun to paint!

All of these fantasy figures are for a project I am calling "Dungeon Heroes".  Imagine a game that is a bit like the old GW game Advanced Heroquest, with elements of 1st edition D&D.  However it has a completely original combat and magic system, and can be played without a DM.

Orcs!

I'm also done painting my ten orcs.  These are figures from Mirliton (old Grenadier figures sculpted by Nick Lund)

Goblin Warriors

I have finished my goblin figures, so here are some photos!

Goblin Archers

I just finished painting five goblin archers tonight.  These are the first miniatures from my big order from Mirliton in Italy.  I'm pretty happy with them.  Take a look.

Goblins & Gargoyles

I've still been working on a dungeon crawl that hits all the right notes for me.  I've made a bunch of floor tiles for rooms and passages.  Also a set of doors.  These pieces are my own design.  I sculpted the originals and then cast copies in resin.

As for rules, I have my own rules for generating the dungeon, and encountering monsters.  Also my own rules for treasure.  But for combat and activation I have been using  modified version of Song of Blades and Heroes.  I am trying to capture a vibe that blends old school D&D with Advanced Heroquest.

Yesterday I got a shipment of miniatures from Mirliton in Italy.  These are the old Grenadier goblins, orcs, and trolls from circa 1990.  I can't wait to get these painted and on the game table!
